Signbox has completed an innovative workplace signage project for the new 90,000 sq.ft. headquarters of Cadent at Prospero Ansty Park in Coventry.
The building-wide scheme comprises branding with external and internal wayfinding, extensive glass manifestation and bespoke wallpaper installations across all four floors.
Signbox developed the signage package alongside Resonate Interiors and we were commissioned by leading workplace design and fit-out contractor, McLaren Construction. We worked closely with Resonate and McLaren throughout to ensure we bought their concepts to life in the most powerful ways possible.
Signage to reflect the heritage of the UK’s largest gas distribution network
Our brief encompassed both office and wayfinding signage throughout the client’s space and articulated the Cadent brand with bespoke copper details to reflect the heritage of this, the UK’s largest gas distribution network.
Our reliance on cutting-edge materials, technologies and processes, colour palettes, textures and project management was critical to the successful interpretation of the Resonate brief. The scheme’s glass manifestation elements were digitally printed onto optically clear film for all glazed meeting rooms and balustrades, reinforcing the Cadent corporate brand and providing the desired levels of privacy.
Other innovative materials include a series of 3D fabricated copper meeting room signs. These incorporate LED lighting throughout the workspace and are controlled by a cloud based system to enable all illuminated and backlit signage to be changed remotely when the meeting room is occupied.
Large external monoliths clad in a sustainable timber are internally illuminated with LEDs and clearly wayfind the building entrance. We recreated the Cadent brand to a template from 3D printed characters to sit flush to the face of the eye-catching desk that sits within the vast, open-plan reception.

The detail that enveloped the Cadent space was as dramatic as it is distinct and is too diverse to detail; these are some of the highlights of the Signbox scheme:
- A two-metre long, bespoke LED-illuminated Signbox, set within a biophilic living moss wall
- Hundreds of metres of digitally printed manifestation graphics
- Bespoke illuminated meeting room signage
- External branded wayfinding
With a timescale that meant delivering the Cadent project during a pandemic lockdown, the Signbox team faced a number of obvious challenges. However, thanks to a flexible approach and close collaboration with the professional team that was involved in this corporate workplace transformation, we successfully overcame all hurdles.
We were able to manufacture and install all components in accordance with the project’s exacting specification and timeline. The result: a truly spectacular workspace that reflects the integrity, heritage and inspiration of Cadent’s new brand and workspace to a tee.
