As part of our ongoing journey to reduce our environmental impact, we’re proud to announce the installation of nearly 200 square metres of solar photovoltaic panels on the south-facing roof of our manufacturing facility – solar panels for sustainable sign manufacturing.
This major investment means we’re now generating over 31kW of clean, renewable solar energy — enough to power the majority of our production processes for most of the year.
Powering Our Premises with Clean Energy
Our south-facing roof is perfectly positioned at an optimal pitch to capture solar energy. After months of planning, the system is now live and already performing beyond expectations. In just the first four weeks, we’ve generated a remarkable 3.5 megawatts of solar energy — and that’s just the beginning.
Our Managing Director, Mark Bartlett, explains:
“Signbox has invested in solar harvesting to provide the bulk of our energy needs during the Spring and Autumn months. This project forms an important part of our Environmental Policy, which is centred on reducing the impact of our business operations on the planet. The capital outlay is expected to pay for itself within six years while delivering around 90% of our annual energy requirements.”
This forward-thinking move not only supports our sustainability goals but also reinforces our commitment to responsible manufacturing.
