The architectural signage industry is continuously changing and the best place to find out about the latest trends, materials and technologies and to connect with suppliers and potential customers is to attend events. We are listing 13 events that architects, designers, main contractors (and any other people responsible for sourcing any sort of signs for their buildings or for their clients) should attend.

Surface Design Show

6-8 February 2018, Business Design Centre, London

Surface Design Show is the only event in the UK that focuses solely on interior and exterior surfaces, bringing innovative materials to life.

Over 170 companies will be showcasing the widest possible range of surface materials, plus some 45 different presentations on 4 purpose built stages across the 3-days of the show. Gain insight into the most exciting design trends and innovations within architecture from this series of talks and debates.

London Design Week 2018

4-9 March 2018, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, London

London Design Week 2018 is a six-day event that line-up 120 exhibitors and more than 100 immersive experiences.

These showroom-based sessions offer the first glimpses of new collections, bring artistry and craftsmanship to life with live demonstrations, excite and enlighten at meet-the-designer events, and enhance professional development with how-to Q&As and expert guidance.

The Health & Safety Event

10-12 April 2018, The NEC, Birmingham

The Health & Safety Event provides a good networking and educational opportunity to anyone responsible for running a safe and efficient workplace. The event is dedicated to the UK’s safety professionals across all sectors.

The sign safety signs represents an important role in signage and since they are required by law this conference and exhibition is a ‘must go’ event to find out the latest in this sector.

Sign & Digital UK

24 – 26 April 2018, The NEC, Birmingham

Sign & Digital UK exhibition is one of the most important events of this type in the UK.  This event is showcasing the latest innovations in signage, wide format printing and print finishing, equipment through to innovative materials, inks and display systems.

Visitors will be inspired by the products and services of hundreds of exhibitors and receive advice and training from industry experts.

Clerkenwell Design Week

Clerkenwell Design Week 2018 has eight different exhibition venues across the area, all showcasing different styles – covering leading furniture, lighting, textile, surface, accessory and product design from around the world.

The festival provides a world-class showcase of leading UK and international designers, brands and companies across showroom events, exhibitions, live talks, workshops and installations

London Festival of Architecture

1-30 June 2018, London

The London Festival of Architecture celebrates London as a global hub of architectural experimentation, practice and debate. The festival returns to the capital from 1-30 June 2018 with a lively and diverse programme of public events across London exploring the theme ‘identity’.

The Print Show

18-20 September, The NEC, Birmingham

The Print Show is a well-known event that you must attend if you are interested in finding out about the latest print and finishing technology, innovative new materials, software systems, and trade services. There will be over 30 free business seminars that you can attend.

Visitors to The Print Show can not only access free expert training, hands on demonstrations, and technical insight into profitable new areas of business diversification, but they can try their hand at printing on presses more than 200 years old, and even learn from expert sales trainers and business consultants.

100% Design

19-22 Sept 2018, Olympia London

100% Design is the go-to event for Architects and Interior Designers. It’s the largest and longest-running design trade event for industry professionals in the UK. Over 400 leading design brands across Interiors, Workplace, Kitchens, Bedrooms & Bathrooms, Design & Build and Emerging Brands are expected to show the latest trends, products and technologies.

This show is the cornerstone event of the London Design Festival, with over 27,000 visitors to the show across 4 days.

London Design Festival

London Design Festival celebrates and promotes London as the design capital of the world: Landmark Projects, V&A Projects, British Land Celebration of Design, Design Districts and Design Destinations Tradeshows.

Landmark Projects serve to showcase the ambition, creativity and experimentation that have earned London a reputation as the world’s design capital.

V&A Projects present a unique collaboration between the world’s leading museum of art and design and London’s foremost contemporary design festival.

London Design Festival Medals pay tribute to designers who are making, or have made, a significant difference to our lives through their innovation, originality and imagination.

The Festival has nine official Design Districts, each with its own character – from lively Brixton, south of the river to trendy East End Shoreditch.

London Design Festival stages five major events under ‘Design Destinations’. These are the commercial pillars of the Festival and essential places to visit for anyone wanting to discover new product releases or identify current trends. They provide key meeting points for designers, manufacturers, buyers, specifiers, the media and design enthusiasts.

Decorex International

16-19 September 2018, Syon Park, London

Decorex International is a longstanding design and interiors exhibition that celebrates exceptional quality, beautiful materials and outstanding craftsmanship. Over 400 of the most recognised and emerging exhibitors are expected to be showcased.

London Design Fair

20-23 September 2018, Old Truman Brewery, London

Located in the creative heart of East London, the London Design Fair is a four-day industry event that brings together 550 exhibitors from 36 countries, including; independent designers, established brands, international country pavilions, features and exhibitions.

They are expected over 28,000 influential, retail buyers, architects, interior designers, designers and design-savvy public interest to find out the very latest in furniture, lighting, textiles, materials and conceptual installations from around the world.

UK Construction Week

9-11 October, The NEC, Birmingham

UK Construction Week brings together all stakeholders within the built environment across every facet of design, build and product innovation during a week of events and exhibitions: Build Show, Energy 2018, Timber Export, Smart Building, Surface & Materials 2018, HVAC 2018, CIVILS EXPO, Plant and Machinery Live and Grand Designs Live.

The exhibitions will be accompanied by seminars that will tackle technical subjects related to construction and energy issues, but also about the future of architecture, interior design, the art of wallpaper and fabric design, wellbeing in the workplace and many other relevant topics.

This event is recommended for anyone working in construction, whether Contractors, Clients, Architects, Manufacturers, SME’s, and Developers.

London Build

23-24 October 2018, Olympia London

London Build is the leading construction and design show to cover London and the UK. According to the organisers, London Build unites an incredible range of high-level attendees involved in construction, architecture, infrastructure and design in London. There will be 8 exhibition zones and 7 dedicated conference and workshop floors.
