The skeleton of London is formed of many roads and streets that are famous for some reason or another. This fame is contextualised by events or factors, such as a former Prime Minister’s residence, where a famous novel was written or where a group of mop-haired Liverpudlians recorded a legendary album. As a result, the iconic black, white and red minimalist road signage has become famous in its own right, serving as a wayfinding ‘face’ to these historical landmarks.
