30 Signs in 30 Days – New Scotland Yard

New Scotland Yard’s revolving sign is one of the most recognised symbols of law and order in the world. Created in 1968, the aim was to convey the Metropolitan Police’s constant vigilance in guarding the safety of London. The triangular shape, reflective steel lettering, unique ‘Flaxman’ typeface and perpetual motion – revolving around 14,000 times a day – is the perfect example of conceptual design.
