Surface Design Show (7-9 February 2012) – At the Surface Design Show this year Signbox will be promoting Signbox EG, a new digital print division.

Signbox have taken delivery of cutting edge print technology – manufactured by the Italian firm of Durst Phototechnik AG. This six figure investment paves the way for Signbox to produce signs and large format graphics at production levels in-house at our 1522 m² facility in Egham, Surrey and importantly will mean that we shall be highly competitive on price for a wide range of digitally printed media.

When Motorola moved their UK head office to a new location they went back to Signbox, their original supplier, to have new signs installed and asked Signbox whether there was scope to use elements of the old signs – not just with money saving in mind but to help keep the company’s carbon footprint down.

Just released onto the UK market by Signbox, comes Enlighten, a back-lit illuminated smart poster system incorporating the latest NFC (near field communication) technology for use by mobile phone users. Enlighten provides advertisers with the ability to communicate more directly with potential customers by providing further details of offers, vouchers and other information and incentives direct to their mobile phone.

Taking it to the edge

Early in 2007, Signbox were asked to update the reception directory sign as part of the refurbishment of the prestigious office complex of 99 Bishopsgate, London. The developers, Hammerson PLC had the option to install a new sign system, but due to the success of the original rod directory that had been designed and installed by Signbox in 1995; they simply decided to update it.
