DTZ - 125 Old Broad Street
Digital Glass® has enhanced the new global headquarters of DTZ, one of the world's largest real estate advisers, with inspirational designs.
As DTZ's preferred corporate sign supplier of nearly 20 years, Signbox was the obvious choice to produce both corporate and creative signage for the company's new premises at 125 Old Broad Street, in the heart of the City of London.
This was an exciting brief as it presented an opportunity for Signbox to incorporate its newly launched, high quality image solution, Digital Glass®, into various client & staff meeting areas.
On the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors, the creative architects, GMW, designed staff break out areas defined by large glass screens featuring a colour themed manifestation graphic. The brief was to introduce a transparent tint to match the floor colour detail, with clear text, reversed out.
Digital Glass® provided an ideal solution as the exact colour density could be controlled to give different gradients, determining the level of opacity. A further advantage was the ability to install on site which suited the requirement to fast track each floor for occupation.
Digital Glass® also met the manifestation requirements for 11 glass panelled client meeting rooms. In order to present a high quality image, befitting the status of DTZ as one of the world's leading real estate advisers, they commissioned designs featuring iconic global landmarks such as Fifth Avenue, Sydney Opera House, Kew Gardens and the Trevi Fountain in a distinctive dot pattern format. Included within the design was an opaque white that provided privacy from floor level up to 1650mm and then gradually faded to clear at the top.
In addition to the large manifestations, Signbox manufactured external and internal corporate signs for DTZ within the Hammerson owned building. The external sign featured a fabricated stainless steel logo with integral LED's to produce halo illumination. The internal reception sign comprised a rear LED illuminated black glass panel with a guilded silver leaf logo in keeping with the style of the reception area shared by other tenants. Within the lift area, Signbox produced a floor directory of opti white glass panels illuminated by LED fixings detailing the various group activities. In keeping with the wider sustainability initiatives the company pursues in its operations, DTZ was keen to specify products ensuring the fit out was carbon neutral.
The sign package also included wayfinding, door signs & display systems for the in-house dining area 'd'Caff'. Adopting a subtle approach with a neutral grey, highlighted with vibrant supporting colours and the restrained corporate typeface, the internal signs were produced using MSS – Modular Sign System. As the cellular offices and lift lobbies were all glazed, signs were bonded to surfaces using VHB tape fixings.
"Signbox's design flair and production expertise have ensured the graphics and signage throughout our new global headquarters appropriately reflect DTZ' commitment to quality whilst supporting the exciting architecture of 125 Old Broad Street," quotes Sarah Singleton MBIFM, DTZ's Group Facilities Director.
