Rocket

Situated in the beautiful pedestrian courtyard between New Bond Street and Brook Street, Rocket is renowned for its infectious upbeat atmosphere and best value wine list.

With its lively bar on the ground floor and light and airy restaurant on the first floor, this popular London venue wanted to reflect its up-to-the-minute image through innovative signage.

Rocket spotted a solution on our stand at 100% Design. Drawn to the simplicity and sophisticated appearance of the newly launched displayedge, the restaurant immediately saw how illuminated display could give its external menus a cutting edge look.

This energy conscious 'fit and forget' sign solution was especially attractive to Rocket as it used LED as its light source giving a long life of 70,000 hours. Another advantage was that the edge-to-edge display case allows transparencies to be easily changed without having to open or dismantle the unit.

Impressed with the product, Rocket asked Signbox to install displayedge to highlight the menu and branding outside its Mayfair branch. By using a waterproof version of Lumisheet, the world's first BLU (back lit unit) with an LED light source, Signbox was able to provide signage suitable for external use.

Placed either side of the entrance and sitting flush, the illuminated menus successfully created an enticing new frontage to the restaurant with subtle ambient lighting. The black border reflects the contemporary image of the restaurant whilst remaining in keeping with the external architecture.

"This application of displayedge is a perfect example of how graphics such as menus can completely change appearance with illumination. The light immediately draws you in and is therefore an essential ingredient of branding," concludes Mark Bartlett, Managing Director of Signbox. Now there's food for thought…!
